San Diego, California, 24 de octubre 2023 – Médicos de South Bay dicen que tienen datos que muestran una correlación entre los niveles de bacterias en el agua de la zona y el número de casos de diarrea en sus pacientes.
A finales de agosto, la ciudad de Imperial Beach tuvo que hacer frente a la tormenta tropical Hillary, a un aviso de hervir el agua y a un vertido de aguas residuales en la calle Hollister. Tras esto, el número de casos de diarrea aumentó un 560% no sólo en Imperial Beach, sino también de Chula Vista, San Ysidro y tan al norte como Coronado.
Esperan que el problema se resuelva antes de que las próximas lluvias empeoren la situación. Las autoridades sanitarias no han respondido en el momento de la publicación de este artículo.
